AERIAL AVIAN PURSUITS

Many voices, CHIRP —

various small shadows

flying overhead,

like a ribbon unfurling.

“Where are they going?” I ask

 

WHOOSH, almost wind swept;

Viola [!] big black birds – THERE,

foraging

until noises startled them.

They rose in the air as one.

 

Lonely, hollow sound,

Canadian Geese honking —

“V” formation,

Upon their descent, their wings;

FLAP FLAP FLAP, wet bed sheets…
