Scenes “pulled from a hat”

A peacock’s tail is a flower in bloom;
displaying his feathers, a grand costume.
***
A squirrel’s pain, diabolical —
the scream, the needle, it’s inaudible.
***
The “chirping” inspired the cat to not wait;
climbing up the wall to investigate.
***
A horse’s fate is tied up in his gait;
endurance is a trait to isolate.
***
A bird’s nest building is like writing verse;
such focus [on detail] can be a curse.
