THE PARK (villanelle)

Dew’s Nature’s perspiration.
Long cat-tails create a wall.
The raucous cry of a Crow —

White Ducks, floating, playing tag,
who’s IT is no one’s call.
Dew’s Nature’s perspiration.

Slender young snake doesn’t drag,
his undulation, his thrall.
The raucous cry of a Crow —

Canada Goose is a “nag”,
guarding his own from a fall.
Dew’s Nature’s perspiration.

Will the old decrepit Barn sag
in the impetuous wet squall?
The raucous cry of a Crow —

Red-winged Blackbirds often lag
when they forage [in] life’s loll.
Dew’s Nature’s perspiration;
the raucous cry of a Crow.
